“We’ll Go Machete specialize in the style of ’90s post-hardcore rock that mixes Jawbox-style crunch with Quicksand-minded grit and higher-scale, upper register yells at the forefront with perfectly noodly, slightly spastic guitars laying the groundwork.” – punknews.org
Hailing from Austin, Texas, ‘We’ll Go Machete’ arrive with their new album Six Plus Ten, the follow up to their well received self titled debut EP released in 2009. Recorded in May 2011 by Matt Smith at EAR studio in Austin, TX and mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago, IL.
‘We’ll go Machete’ draw upon a number of early 90s influences such as Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi and Tanner. You can hear the DC and San Diego influence, but they have stepped away from many of the post-punk guidelines to construct a newer and compelling sound.
They have recently shared the stage with the likes of Future of the Left, Fatal Flying Guillotines, The Melvins, Heroin Sheiks, Plastic Constellations and Hammerhead.
